How to Care for Your Knitwear

While purchasing quality garments is always an important step in creating a long-lasting wardrobe, knowing how to maintain your garments good condition can often be challenging. Here are a few tips to follow, to help keep your loved wardrobe knits as good as the day you purchased them.


How to Wash Your Knit


01        Before washing your knitted garments always read and follow the care label. 

02        While some may be machine washed on a gentle cycle, delicate knits should generally be hand washed. 

03        Always use cold wash, high temperatures may shrink wool fibres. 

04        Always turn knits inside out when washing to avoid excess pilling. 

05        Always use a mild detergent to wash your wool and wool-blend knits. 

06        Wet wool stitched easily and will lose its shape when spun dry or hung vertically. Gently roll to draw the water out and let it dry naturally, away from direct sunlight and heat.


How to Care for Your Knit


Knits should be gently folded and kept flat in drawers. Never store knitwear on a hanger, as it will stretch and lose its shape. Pilling is natural for wool garments. If pilling occurs, opt for an electric lint remover to gently shave off pills. Avoid pulling by hand.
